Privacy Policy

AI LAX (the "Product," "we," "us," or "our") is built by TheMadHacker LLC ("TheMadHacker"). We understand that microscope imagery often contains sensitive research data — some of it unpublished, patient-adjacent, or commercially valuable. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using AI LAX, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide the service, and we design every layer of AI LAX to minimize what we touch.
1.1 Account & Billing Information
- Name, work email, lab, and institution — provided when you register or request a demo.
- Billing details, processed securely through our payment processor. We never store full card numbers on our infrastructure.
- Contact preferences and support history.
1.2 Image & Metadata
- AI LAX reads your microscope imagery in read-only mode. Enhanced and raw frames are processed to deliver results and are not used to train models or shared with third parties.
- Metadata (sample labels, timestamps, acquisition parameters) stays within your controlled environment wherever technically feasible. We never sell, license, or mine your data.
1.3 Technical & Usage Data
- Usage telemetry (feature adoption, error logs, performance metrics) to keep the platform reliable.
- Device and browser information for security and compatibility.
- IP addresses, logged temporarily for anti-abuse and incident response.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provision, operate, and support your AI LAX subscription.
- To process AI enhancement, analysis, and collection on your behalf.
- To improve reliability, security, and product quality.
- To communicate service updates, security notices, and support responses.
- To comply with legal obligations and defend our legal rights.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers (hosting, payment processing, analytics) under strict data-processing agreements.
- Legal requirements when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of users.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, affected users will be notified of any change in data handling.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and billing data for the duration of your subscription plus any legal or contractual obligations. Image processing data is retained only as long as needed to fulfill the service request, unless your deployment agreement specifies longer-term storage (e.g., on-prem or private-cloud deployments where you control retention).
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct, update, or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and continuous monitoring. See our Security Overview for detail.
7. Data Transfers & Jurisdiction
AI LAX is operated by TheMadHacker LLC. If you access the service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed within the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfer.
8. Children's Privacy
AI LAX is a professional tool intended for institutional and commercial use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 16.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform.
